A tough question I know, but how do you think you would react if your child came out to you as a homosexual? I personally can’t speak from experience, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently. I know in my heart that I would be accepting no matter what, but it’s so hard to say how you would react to something until you experience it firsthand. Thoughts?

Definitely not a tough question. However it is timely because I just finished reading the book prayers for bobby. Such a heart wrenching story that deals with exactly this issue. The mother in the book was just awful and rejected her son for being homosexual. Unfortunately, it took a huge tragedy for her to see the errors of her way and she ended up being a tremendously influential gay rights activist (true story).
